Work Experiences, Skills,  Research Interests, and Education

JANUARY 2012 – PRESENT
Baylor University
Doctoral Researcher (Expected to be
graduated in 2018)

Participating in a collaborative research with
Kearney lab and Baker lab in the Institute of
Biomedical Studies at Baylor University.One
part of my research involves construction and
modification of feature selection algorithm supervised
machine learning-based models to predict
protein characteristics from their primary
sequences. Another part includes designing
production of target-specific antimicrobial/host
defense peptides.

AUGUST 2012 – PRESENT
Baylor University
Graduate teaching assistant

Teaching as an instructor in BIO 2401 which
is on human anatomy and physiology in the
pre-nursing school and BIO 1106 that on modern
concepts of bioscience laboratory lab in
the department of biology. This duty includes
a fifteen hours a week workload that requires
six hours of active teaching.

JANUARY 2011 – DECEMBER 2011
Plant biotechnology lab
University of Dhaka, Bangladesh

Worked as a research associate under Prof.
Zeba Islam Seraj, Ph.D. My research was comprised
of the establishment of an effective tissue
culture independent transformation method in
rice and analysis of irreducibility and tissue
specificity of the various promoters of Na+/H+
anti-porter genes. I was also involved with
some other projects and routine bench-lab works there. The grants of the projects
were from USDA and BAS (Bangladesh Academy
of Science).
